Welcome to the official MRU SIG 2026 Logistics Centre.

MRUSIG 2026 logistics has been developed to help participants, faculty members, guest speakers, partners, and observers prepare for their journey to Monrovia, Liberia, and to ensure a smooth, safe, and enjoyable experience throughout the School.

The Mano River Union School on Internet Governance and Emerging Technologies (MRU SIG) follows international best practices adopted by leading Schools on Internet Governance by providing participants with comprehensive logistical guidance before, during, and after the programme. Effective logistics enable participants to focus on learning, networking, and meaningful engagement in a collaborative multistakeholder environment.

Arrival in Liberia

Participants arriving by air will be received at:

Roberts International Airport (ROB)

The MRU SIG Secretariat will provide further guidance on airport reception and recommended transportation options closer to the event.

Cross-Border Road Travel

The Mano River Union region enjoys strong cross-border connectivity, and participants from Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Côte d'Ivoire may choose to travel to Liberia by road.

The MRU SIG Secretariat welcomes delegates travelling overland and will provide practical guidance to support safe and efficient cross-border travel.

Currency and Payments

The official currency of Liberia is the Liberian Dollar (LRD), while the United States Dollar (USD) is also widely accepted. Participants are encouraged to carry a combination of cash and internationally accepted payment cards where appropriate.

Language

The official language of the programme is English.

Where feasible, selected sessions and participant support may accommodate French-speaking participants, particularly delegates from Guinea and Côte d’Ivoire, to encourage inclusive regional participation.

Electricity and Power Supply

Liberia operates on 220V electricity with commonly used plug types.

International participants are encouraged to bring universal travel adapters and personal charging equipment for laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.

International participants are encouraged to verify Liberia’s entry requirements well in advance of travel.

Where necessary, the MRU SIG Secretariat may issue official invitation letters to support visa applications for confirmed participants and faculty members. Participants remain responsible for complying with the immigration requirements of the Republic of Liberia.
